Mark Maginot                        Meet the other Owners

Mark Maginot is one of the successful, up-and-coming young businessmen in Providence, Rhode Island. Born in Las Vegas, Nevada, Mark moved to Topeka, Kansas with his parents at a young age and graduated with honors from Seaman High School where he excelled at debate and public speaking. He was also very active in Junior Achievement, earning numerous top individual and company awards, as well as a 4-year, full-tuition scholarship to Johnson & Wales University.

While attending Johnson & Wales, Mark lived and worked on Federal Hill (the "Little Italy" section of Providence), served as an intern for the city's illustrious mayor, Vincent "Buddy" Cianci, and owned a very successful storage business serving university students in Providence. He graduated from Johnson & Wales with degrees in Business Start-up and Business Management.

Mark has considerable restaurant experience, which began with working at a Japanese steakhouse while in high school. After arriving in Providence, he began as a dishwasher at Bob & Timmy's Pizza on Federal Hill, eventually becoming a manager. He also worked at the Agora Restaurant at the Westin Hotel.

In 1997, when Mark was 23, he opened the original Geppetto's Pizzeria on Thayer Street with Michael Kyriakakis. The two sold the Thayer Street location and began work on the current Geppetto's on DePasquale Plaza, which opened in the summer of 2004.

In 2006, Mark announced the launch of Geppetto’s Hi-Wheat dough.  A proprietary blend with incredible health benefits, not available at any other pizzeria in the United States.
